Joe has more than 24 years of experience in the financial investment industry. He holds Series 7, 63, 65, and 24 registrations with LPL Financial. His Series 24 registration, General Securities Principal, allows him to supervise other financial professionals. Additionally, Joe specializes in insurance planning and risk management. His expertise in retirement planning, asset management, estate planning, and financial planning provides clients, individuals, and businesses with a sound and thoughtful future.
Joe and his wife Ali have four boys—Turner, Will, Charlie and Henry. He is a dedicated family man who’s active in his community and enjoys serving several local and national charities and nonprofit organizations, both as part of the mission at Garrett & Robinson and on his own. While at the University of Georgia in the 1980s, he held leadership positions and remains active in the University of Georgia Alumni Association.
He’s a past president of the Carroll County Sertoma Club, former chairman of Circles of West Georgia, former commissioner on the City of Carrollton Zoning Board, volunteer pianist for Tanner Medical Center’s Harmony for Healing program, past board member of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, past member of the Oak Mountain Academy Board of Trustees and former senior warden of St. Margaret’s vestry board of directors. He’s an active member of the Rotary Club of Carrollton, Sunset Hills Country Club and currently serves as a board of director on the Community Foundation of West Georgia.
As a local columnist for the Times-Georgian, Joe has been awarded Best Columnist by the Georgia Press Association multiple times. He’s also the author of the book “Easy to Love.”
Joe enjoys bicycling, golfing, and playing the piano and guitar in his spare time.
Joe’s family has been serving the financial needs of citizens in the West Georgia area for more than 60 years. His father, Jimmy Garrett, retired from a 50-year career as one of the founders of Carroll County’s largest CPA firms, Garrett, Thomas and Fazio, P.C.
