Joe has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry and holds Series 7, 63, 65, and 24 securities registrations with LPL Financial. His Series 24 designation, General Securities Principal, qualifies him to supervise other financial professionals. His areas of expertise include retirement planning, investment management, estate and legacy planning, insurance solutions, and risk management.
Under Joe’s leadership, Garrett & Robinson was named West Georgia’s Financial Advisor of the Year by the Times-Georgian’s Best-of-the-Best Review (2016), based on reader nominations. In 2024, Joe earned the prestigious Masters Club Award (based on annual production), recognizing the top 5% of over 28,000 advisors affiliated with LPL Financial, the nation’s largest independent broker/dealer (as reported by Financial Planning magazine, 1996–2024). He was also honored with the Five Star Professional Award in 2020, recognizing excellence in client satisfaction and industry achievement.*
Joe is committed to continuous learning and thought leadership. In 2023, he participated in the LPL Business Leaders Forum at UCLA, an exclusive event designed to help top advisors deepen their expertise and turn academic insights into real-world strategies. In 2025, he was again invited to attend the forum, this time held at Duke University, where he joined fellow industry leaders in exploring advanced approaches to business innovation and client service.
A Carrollton native, Joe is deeply involved in his community. He and his wife, Ali, are proud parents to four sons—Turner, Will, Charlie, and Henry.
Joe actively supports several local and national nonprofits through his firm and personal involvement. He has served as president of the Carroll County Sertoma Club, chairman of Circles of West Georgia, and commissioner on the Carrollton Zoning Board. His other civic roles have included service on the boards of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, Oak Mountain Academy, and the Community Foundation of West Georgia. He is a Rotary Club of Carrollton and Sunset Hills Country Club member and has volunteered as a pianist with Tanner Medical Center’s Harmony for Healing program.
Joe graduated from the University of Georgia, where he held several leadership roles and remains active with the Alumni Association. He is also an accomplished writer, having received multiple Best Columnist awards from the Georgia Press Association for his contributions to the Times-Georgian. He is the author of the book Easy to Love.
Joe enjoys golfing, cycling, playing the piano, and reading in his free time. His passion for service and excellence continues a family legacy of financial stewardship—his father, Jimmy Garrett, was a founding partner of one of Carroll County’s largest CPA firms, Garrett, Thomas & Fazio, P.C.
